New Tug Delivered to PT Patria Maritime Lines

The first in a series of at least three OSD-IMT7402 shallow draft tugs has been delivered to PT Patria Maritime Lines based in East Jakarta, Indonesia. It was built at PT Patria Maritim Perkasa (subsidiary of PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering) shipyard in Batam, and is now on its way to Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.

The 20 tonnes bollard pull, shallow draft, conventional tug is equipped to assist 300 foot barges berthing and unberthing and for towing these barges along the Barito.....

Revival underway in Indonesian vessel construction

Indonesian shipyards are also benefiting from export orders for tugs as owners in the region bolster their towage capabilities.

The latest tugboat launch in Indonesia was at PT Patria Maritim Perkasa’s facilities. It launched Patria 22, as the first in a series of three shallow-draught tugs ordered by PT Patria Maritime Lines in 2019.

This is a 23-m tug with a draught of just 2 m enabling it to operate in water up to a depth of 2.5 m. With a bollard pull.....

Indonesian Shallow-draught Tug Fleet Takes Shape

PT Patria Maritim Perkasa has built Patria 22 at its shipyard in Batam for PT Patria Maritime Lines, which is expanding its barge operations in Indonesia.

It was built to an OSD-IMT7402 design as the first of three similar vessels and is en route to begin operations in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.

Patria 22 and its sister tugs will support barge operations in the Barito River. They will tow, push, berth and undock 91.4-m barges in water.....
